Reaching for the stars...

I arrived a day earlier for the AAM conference so I can spend time exploring Philadelphia on my own. The moment I stepped out of the subway - I was in love! Philly is definitely high on my list of favorite US cities - right next to NY (which is my first!). They have so many museums, the city has public art all over, and everything is almost within walking distance!

I tried three of the must-try food in Philadelphia: Hoagie, Pretzel and of course the famous Philly cheesesteak! Yum yum!

Thanks wikee. I really really like Philly. Gusto ko na ngang lumipat dun eh hahaha.

I actually got accepted to the University of the Arts there, kaya lang late na sila nagnotify that I got accepted. I have never heard of the school before but they are among the handful of universities that offer a masters in museum eductaion. It turns out that their museum studies program is among the earliest established in the US- they just celebrated their centennial! Saka panalo yung treatment nila sa Fulbrighters doon. Yung isang Fulbrghter from Indonesia who is taking museum communication, got a free one-bedroom apartment right smack in the middle of downtown and a macbook! Winner di ba? I met at the AAM conference the admission officer of the uni and she said "you didn't come to our school" hahaha. Naalala pa niya ako.

But I don't regret going to UF kasi we are well taken cared of here and madami ring advantages and privileges. You should check out Uarts' website. Nakasulat doon na may fellowships and assistanships available: http://www.uarts.edu/graduate/ms/efinancial.html Baka lang maisipan mong mag-apply :)

hay naku Wikee, you really have to come to Philly. I'm sure you'll like it too! The next AAM conference is in LA. You should plan to attend, meron naman silang mga fellowships for international people. Here is the website: http://www.aam-us.org/am10/ Propose ka ng presentation. or we can make a proposal together :) An international perspective chuva! hehehe

Panira nga yung signage ng Sheraton eh. Kainis! Dun rin sa Tennessee ganda ng view of the City Hall tapos sa likod may building ng Sheraton at yung signage. And you can't take the picture without including the sign!
